The 2012 Tournament of Roses wasn’t just for the flowery floats, or so it seems. The Wall Street movement didn’t pass up on this annual event. The protesters carried a 250-foot long banner that said “We the People.” Occupy the Rose Parade organizer Pete Thottam said that there were at least 5,00 protesters.

Kathy Griffin co-hosted the live coverage of the Times Square ball drop with Anderson Cooper. As soon as the camera cut to the audience marveling at the Swarovski crystal ball, Griffin pulled her biggest trick yet. Cooper was so surprised that all he could say was, ”Are you freaking kidding me?” Anyone who was watching the duo can see how awkward Cooper felt. After the Albert Pujols decision to sign with the Los Angeles Angels, the World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals have signed six-time All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran. The announcement was made Thursday at the KMOX.
Carlos Beltran,34, has agreed to a two-year, $26million deal with no option with the St. Louis Cardinals. Beltran batted .300 with 22 home runs, 84 RBIs and a .385 on-base percentage this year while playing for the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants. Director David Fincher took a shot at Steig Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo novel. This is the second adaptation of the Swedish novel that was published in 2005. Kim Jong Il
North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il has died. In 2008, Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke. Although the announcer said the cause of death was due to physical and mental over-work, reports say he died from heart attack on a train while traveling.
The announcement of the death last Saturday was made last Monday by state television from the capital, Pyongyang. North Korea has been grooming Kim’s third son to take over power from his father.

Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green will miss the entire season due to an aortic aneurysm. The diagnosis was made during a physical for the 2011-2012 NBA season.
The 25-year-old joined the Celtics last season via trade. He played his first three season of his career with the Seattle Supersonics and Oklahoma City Thunder. His averages at 13.9 points per game and 5.5 rebounds.

Mario Hamilton, better known as Slim Dunkin was killed in an Atlanta Music Studio.
The Atlanta police report says that about 5:30PM the rapper got into an argument before a video shoot at a recording studio on Memorial Drive. The person he was arguing with pulled out a pistol and shot the artist in the chest. The Grady Memorial Hospital pronounced Slim Dunkin death Friday evening.
