University of Florida offensive coordinator no more. That’s right, Charlie Weis is leaving the Gators to prepare for the upcoming Gator Bowl in January 2 and to search for a replacement. Why? That’s because the University of Kansas officially announced that he is now the 37th head coach of the football team.
Charlie Weis, 55, has 33 years of coaching under his belt. 16 of those are spent in the National Football League. He is the former New England Patriots offensive coordinator, former Notre Dame head coach and current offensive coordinator at the University of Florida.
Weis has coached in five Super Bowls, owns four Super Bowl rings and has helped teams that have appeared in six AFC Championship Games by playing an important role.
The University of Kansas will hold a press conference, Friday at 5PM, to introduce Charlie Weis as the Jayhawks new football coach in the Mrkonic Auditorium at the Anderson Family Football Facility.
