The 64-year-old Houston Texans defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips is taking a medical leave.
Scheduled to have a surgery this week, Wade Phillips is taking ten days away from his team. He is going under the knife to resolve a kidney condition that he has been fighting for a while. Phillips just recently admitted his medical condition after team practice. He assures everyone that it’s not life-threatening, nor is it cancer. Although he wouldn’t admit to what exact kidney condition he has, he shares that this is what his doctors advised him.
Although he’s going to miss the game against Indianapolis (December 22), Phillips expects to be back in time for the regular-season finale on January 1. The Texans will then be playing Tennessee.
