President Obama attended the 112th Army-Navy game, the tradition that showcases America’s best.

Other spectators, aside from the president, were Vice President Joe Bidden, his wife, Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta , Army General Martin E. Dempsey and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff. There were a total of 81,000 in attendance.

After tossing the coin at the start of the game, the president visited wounded soldiers and their families and walked through the a ceremonial cadet gantlet at halftime, switching sides to show traditionally the commander in chief’s neutrality.

The Navy had the lead early on the game. At one point they were tied. But it was the Navy who won, 27-21. This is the 10th consecutive win of the Navy over the Army. The game was held at FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins.
