2012 Presidential Republican Candidates

The last GOP debate last night was held in Sioux City, Iowa. It is the last Republican debate before the primary season starts. The federal judiciary was the hot topic this week.

Newt Gingrich changed his stand on immigration. He has now a stricter answer to last week’s debate. He said that the lawsuits against Arizona and Alabama should be dropped since they have strict immigration laws. Gingrich will still not take back his previous statement – ‘it was unjust to deport undocumented immigrants who have lived in the country for 25 years and have families in the U.S.’

Mitt Romney gains the coveted endorsement from South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. The support is rare since sitting governors of important primary states often remain neutral.

Newt Gingrich is still the race leader, with Mitt Romney catching up.
