Rumor has it that the New York Knicks are courting Tyson Chandler for a $58 million contract. It’s been reported that there’s a 98 percent chance for this to be a done deal. The contract is said to be for four years. It’s been said that Chandler said no to a 4 year, $60 million contract with the Golden State Warriors.

If the Knicks get Chandler, how will that affect the team’s interest in getting Chris Paul? Now that the CP3 deal was single handedly crushed by David Stern, Chandlers acquisition will force the team to do something with point guard Chauncey Billups. There are whispers of a sign-and-trade for Chandler. Chandler to Knicks, Billups to Mavericks.

With an average of  10.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game last year, Tyson Chandler,29,  came  in third in the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year voting.

But it looks like the Dallas Mavericks has no intention of letting Chandler go. Will this deal push through? Or will it also suffer the faith of the CP3 deal?
