Farewell to the Tom Leykis Show, The Best Radio Show on FM Radio

The Tom Leykis Show along with the whole 97.1 KLSX talk show staff were cancelled this week. The other radio shows included The Adam Corolla Show and Frosty, Heidi and Frank. Once Tom’s show ended on Friday, February 20th at 5 PM PST the new format took over, 97.1 Amp Radio. Tom Leykis of the “Tom Leykis Show” was the last talk show host to broadcast on the 97.1 KLSX Free FM air waves.

Tom Leykis had been broadcasting in Los Angeles for the past 12 years. His show provided many hours of entertainment for millions of people across the country. His intelligence glowed when he spoke. He gave good advice to listeners on finance and dating. His, “Leykis101 Class” gave good information on dating for young men and some women. It was the most popular segment of this weekly broadcast.

Tom, the drive home from work everyday will not be the same. You made the 50 minute drive home from work seem like 15. Now it will be a long, painful drive once more. When Howard Stern left terrestrial radio one of the last things he said to his listeners was, “We are the last of a dying breed.” Even though I think Howard is the greatest radio personality ever, he was wrong. The Tom Leykis Show and his listeners are truly, The Last of a Dying Breed. It suits you well that just like Howard Stern you left on top, #1 in your time slot.

I want to personally say, Thank You Mr. Leykis for the outstanding radio show and great advice you have given us for the past 12 years. You and your show will be dearly missed by millions. We will be wishing your return as soon as possible.

The Tom Leykis show was the best radio show ever. You tell it how it is u don’t beat around the bush you get rite to the point.You tell how all those whores use and abuse men this day and age I’m 24 and u have tought me a lot and just want to thank you!!!, cause now I now how to get more ass than a toilet seat!!!. Love seeing this fat fuck finally get booted! It’s a pity that he wasn’t insightful enough to see that his show, his homemade philosphy, were transparent and adolescent attempts at getting revenge on females for god knows what some of them did to him. Maybe hurt his delicate feelings? Nor was he able to see his sheer hypocrisy–blaming and making fun of females for getting/being fat/unattractive, yet not realizing how fat and unattractive he is. The fact that he gets any women in bed just goes to show that there’s no accounting for bad taste. Me, I’d never let the guy within fifty yards of me. I found it very telling that his listeners consisted, for the most part, of inarticulate, uneducated guys in their late teens and early 20s. Easy prey for anyone with half a brain to manipulate. But pathetic all the same.

I am going to miss his show very much. He does make a lot of sense on a lot of issues. I love his show, but, I am not crazy about him. He’s arrogant.

Hopefully in the fall, he will have a TV show talk show. I believe the ratings will go thru the roof!!!

At 60 years young not all of Tom’s advice could work for me, though my teenage son earned his allowance not from doing chores around the house, though by putting in 7 hours of listening to the show. Tom should be known as Mr. Leykis VSOP (very smart ole pal)! Cream rises, so I know you will be back. Love Each Amazing Day!

I’m a fifty two year old black guy. I’m also a Christian. I believe that Tom has spoken to entire generations. He spoke on more than just dealing with women. He has saved many a man from a fate worse than death! I love you Brother.

I am 52, got married @ 47 for the 2nd time after 20 yrs of being single. I divorced again, lost nearly everything fighting lawyers over a 3 year marriage. The only thing that kept me sane was Tom-he is right every way one can be right. My retirement, home equity, 401K–depleted–credit cards extended, but the bitch is gone. I sleep like a baby, I’ve lost 50 lbs and jog every day now that I have a reason to live.
