Frank Kramer Rebuts His Statement and Apologizes to Tom Leykis
March 9th, 2009 by Mike

During his last broadcast on 97.1 FM Talk Frank Kramer of the, “Frosty, Heidi and Frank” afternoon radio show blamed Tom Leykis of the, “Tom Leykis Show” for the demise of 9731 FM Talk. Frank stated during the last broadcast that if Tom would have took a pay cut the station might have not shut down the 97.1 FM Talk format. The station had to cut costs and turn it into a lower cost automated music format to stay in business.

Tom Leykis posted on his MySpace Blog a rebuttal and apology from Frank Kramer.
“Mixing anger, confusion, sorrow, and whiskey, is never a good idea. I wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight about a few things I said during our last broadcast on KLSX. ..Tom Leykis.. had nothing to do with the demise of 97.1 FM Talk. I feel like I piled it on Tom that day and he didn’t deserve it. Now that I have sobered up from the 12 shots I had that afternoon I wanted to clarify the matter and apologize to Tom for pointing the finger at him. This whole deal was out of all of our hands, and there was nothing I, or Tom, could have done to change it. We both appreciate your continued support and hope to be sharing a mic for you all in the near future.”

I have listened to old FHF shows and what Frank Kramer is saying is just not true Unforetunenately. If you downloaded the KLSX FHF podcast from 2009 called “one more year”. They said in the podcast that they where offered a take it of leave it contract. If FHF didn’t sign it CBS would have put Danny Bonaduche in their time slot and FHF would have been out. So you see Kramer was omitting a lot on the last day at KLSX. I listen to FHF now and don’t really care to ever listen to Tom Lykis again.

I agree. I believe Tom threw his lawyers at Kramer and forced an apology.

Personally, I don’t buy it. I think, as in the past, Kramer was probably told to apologize or he would be sued. What happened was simply the truth came out when Frank’s filter was down due to his drinking. This has happened before with revelations about his ex-wife, and Kramer was forced to apologize on air for those comments.
